Rimaste orfane
di madre, la quindicenne Mariute e la piccola Rosute vanno a vivere nella baita con lo zio Barbe Zef. Una notte, mentre
la più piccola è in ospedale, Barbe approffitta della maggiore. Per lui sono cose normali, "cose che succedono":
quando però Mariute viene a sapere che lo stesso tipo di violenza è stata all'origine della morte della madre, non
riesce a controllarsi dalla rabbia...
Un ritratto duro e aspro di una famiglia poverissima che vive tra la miseria
e l'incesto. Il penultimo film di Cottafavi (in versione originale, in dialetto friulano con sottotitoli) è un dramma
che sa coinvolgere emotivamente lo spettatore.
